Our Officers

  • Rodney Hayes, President

Rodney Hayes, originally from Longview, Texas, is a passionate and goal-driven accounting student at the University of Texas at Tyler. His service in the U.S. Military as a Naval Aircrew Aviation Mechanic for the Marine Corps instilled in him discipline, resilience, and a strong drive to excel in every task he undertakes. Outside of work and academics, he cherishes quality time with his wife, friends, and pets. He currently serves as President for Beta Alpha Psi.

  • Melanie Spencer, Treasurer

Melanie formerly served as Vice President of Service for the 2025–2026 academic year, and this experience has allowed her to develop a strong understanding of the commitment, organization, and teamwork required to be an effective officer. Through this role, she has grown both personally and professionally, while also learning to be adaptable and available to support her fellow officers, often stepping in where needed. This has provided her with valuable insight into the responsibilities of the Treasurer position.

In addition, Melanie has prior experience as Treasurer for Circle K International, where she managed budgets, coordinated funding requests, and ensured financial organization within the chapter. This experience has equipped her with the skills and attention to detail necessary to effectively handle the responsibilities of Treasurer. She is passionate about Beta Alpha Psi and is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the chapter in a new leadership capacity.

  • Connor Maxwell, National Reporting Officer

Connor Maxwell is a Finance and Accounting double major at UT Tyler who is on track for CPA licensure, with broad interests in banking and audit. Outside the classroom, he has gained hands-on bookkeeping experience working under a licensed CPA, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

Beyond the technical side, Connor would say that what defines him more is how he naturally approaches things. He has always considered himself an observer who pays close attention, picks up on details, and thinks carefully before acting. He also has a genuine interest in psychology and philosophy, not simply as academic exercises, but because he finds those disciplines genuinely compelling and believes they help make a person more thoughtful and perceptive in whatever they do.

  • Lydia Lopez, VP of Membership

Jace is a junior accounting major at UT Tyler and a first-generation student from the Tyler area. He received his Associate’s in Business from Tyler Junior College in 2025 before transferring to UT Tyler to pursue his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting. Before transferring, Jace served as the Vice President of Service for Phi Theta Kappa at TJC, where he gained experience in leading, organizing, and managing service projects. He became a member of Beta Alpha Psi in March 2026 as a junior member. Jace enjoys spending time with friends, his fiancée, and trying new foods.

  • David Amador, VP for Special Affairs/Activities

David is a senior at The University of Texas at Tyler, majoring in Accounting and minoring in Finance. He has been a part of Beta Alpha Psi since 2024, and during that time I has developed a strong appreciation for the organization’s focus on leadership, professional growth, and service. He enjoys building connections with others and creating a positive environment for students. As a candidate for Vice President of Special Affairs, he hopes to contribute to Beta Alpha Psi by supporting events, encouraging member involvement, and helping strengthen the chapter community. He is very excited for the opportunity to serve and make a meaningful impact within the organization.
